Job Overview

Our talented engineering team exists to create new consumer experiences that are found on desktop and mobile devices for our major media, sports, and entertainment clients. As part of our team you will have the opportunity to deliver value on multiple projects throughout the year, helping bring together the best of what this industry craves.

Your contributions will improve both the functionality and user experiences for millions of end-users of the SportsLabs mobile and web platforms.

Major Responsibilities:

We are looking for a QA Engineer who will work in our Boulder, Colorado office assisting in the development and maintenance of our customer’s web and mobile apps. This is a key role within our engineering team, requiring extensive testing experience, a sharp eye for detail, and a passion for improving things. Interfacing on a daily basis with both Product Owners and engineering resources, you will:

  • Manually test new mobile and web functionality as part of an agile development team, assessing new features against the documented requirements, as well as evaluating bug resolutions for effectiveness and completion.
  • Engage early in the requirements development process to write acceptance criteria for each requirement.
  • Using your acceptance criteria as a blueprint, build and maintain suites of test cases to be used during testing of all stripes – full span, spot, regression, edge case, load, error condition, etc.
  • Offer recommendations to product and engineering stakeholders on effective, timely approaches to the testing of functional points.
  • Using the company’s issue tracking system, deliver precise documentation of the defects you find so that they can be readily understood and reproduced.
  • Work as an active participant in an agile development environment; attend daily standups, requirements grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years experience conducting QA on web systems and/or Android and iOS mobile applications
  • Methodical, thorough, and logical problem solving capability with an outstanding attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
  • Experience with test automation is a plus
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Cultural Points

We pay attention to your cultural capabilities as much as your skills. A QA Engineer candidate with a great culture fit in SportsLabs will look like this:

  • You’re a dedicated team player who takes the team’s commitments at least as seriously as you take your own.
  • You enjoy helping others refine their contributions to a higher level of quality and excellence.
  • You’re the one who always sees the typo, the minor mistake, and the slightly misaligned columns everywhere you look.
  • You feel accountable for the quality of the products you test, but are willing to negotiate to a “best we can do” condition with the Product Owner.
  • You live for the moments when your team’s contributions make a big, positive impact on your company’s health.
